A Unique Wedding Venue in Cambridge, MA
March 2, 2026: we regret to announce that due to ongoing building maintenance and repairs, we need to put our wedding ministry on pause through the summer of 2026, and we will be unable to accept any new wedding reservations for the time being.

At Swedenborg Chapel, we believe that couples should have the opportunity to experience a wedding service that reflects their personal stories. We make it our job to create a sacred space for you and your families and friends that brings heightened meaning to the day’s events, incorporating your personal traditions and wishes. We welcome couples of all (or no) faith traditions and walks of life and celebrate the diversity of those drawn together in marriage love.
We encourage you to contact us as early in your planning process as possible and arrange a visit to learn more about our services and to view our beautiful and historic facilities.

The Chapel
Completed in 1901, our chapel is a prime example of the late nineteenth-century Arts and Crafts movement in Boston. We’re a short 8-minute walk from the heart of Harvard Square, making Swedenborg Chapel a perfect location for your wedding. Entered into the National Register of Historic Places in 1983, the chapel was designated a protected landmark by the City of Cambridge on March 16, 1999, thanks to overwhelming community support and a recommendation from the Cambridge Historical Commission. The chapel’s charming Gothic Revival exterior leads you into a sacred space of simplicity and beauty, comfortably seating up to 168 guests.

The states produced by marriage love are innocence, peace, tranquility, inmost friendship, complete trust, and a mutual desire of the mind and heart to do the other every good…

Thank you for the beautiful wedding ceremony. Thank you for a beautiful and perfect wedding.
Matt and I are truly grateful for all you did to make our wedding special and meaningful. You set such a wonderful tone for the whole ceremony, and helped Matt and me focus on what was truly important about the day.
